It’s me again, providing you with another blog post. It’s been six months today since I started this blog, how crazy.
Anyway, I thought that this post would focus around the topic of self-worth.
Because knowing your self-worth is important.
So what is Self-worth? and why is it so important?
Your sense of Self-worth is how you regard yourself. You understand the qualities, talents, your strengths, your personality traits. It’s how you value yourself.
Sometimes it’s hard to acknowledge the good things about yourself and focus on the bad stuff. Your weaknesses, things your’e not good at, the qualities that you don’t have. And it’s easy to measure ourselves against others and think about all the things that they have that you don’t. Because our society is so competitive and it makes us believe that to have value, we must be special and above average to feel good about ourselves.
Sometimes other people may make us feel bad about ourselves. They might tell us that we don’t have some material pleasure, we don’t look like that, “why can’t you be more like that person?””Why do you have to be so bad at this?” questions and comments that make us question what we are really worth.
But we shouldn’t feel like that, don’t let your external environment influence the way you feel about yourself. Don’t let society tell you that if you were just a little bit taller or a little bit thinner, then you would be beautiful. Don’t ever feel like you have to prove your worth to someone, the moment you feel like that, walk away.Because your value doesn’t decrease based on someone’s inability to see your worth.
Yes, you have weaknesses, and yes you have faults. You’re not perfect but nobody is, everyone has weaknesses, everyone has faults. But there are so many beautiful things about you.Stop comparing yourself to others, pursue things that you love and know that you are complete all by yourself.
